Garden246

The challenge was to find a photo which allows the pages to be seen and clicked.

This one is somewhat adventurous! It says - Thanks for looking after our garden.

This page will remain hidden until you say otherwise.

Email Sat 9 Jan

Dear J

  1. Thank you so very much for responding so nicely to what must have been a surprise to you.
  2. You may turn out to be my "rescuer" about which you'll read later.
  3. Already I can appreciate that it will be the best thing to do and not send this site to "D".
  4. Some pages may not scan as I had plans to tidy them.
  5. I hope that nothing here will be upsetting for you.
  6. The email will just be a link.
  7. Thanks again.

Francis x

1 Introduction

  1. All this will be a shock. I had hoped to pass this stage by now but needed to wait until when the time was right. I needed to establish that your computer is not viewed by any member of your family.
  2. I recognise that I haven't pulled any punches, at times.
  3. As part of the privacy/security aspects, your members of your family are 'coded'.
  4. As you live with 'D', I hope his access to your private afffairs is 100% denied.
  5. You may decide that you want no part of the 'interaction' between D and me and that will be respected.
  6. Should you decide to plough on, it will not be shown or made available to D. Thus it will be a 'hidden' page accessible only by you having saved it.
  7. As you have seen the page title, it arrived after a lot of thought. There is no expectation that you are being asked to shepherd D through the process of him mending his ways. Absolutely not!
  8. Further to 1.3, as far as D is concerned, this page doesn't exist. It will be very interesting for you to see if he raises concern with you about this website.
  9. And, of course, that is a mattter between you and D.

2 Modus operandi

  1. Before sending the website Introduction page to D. I need to establish that his computer is not viewed by any member of your family.
  2. That means of course that I must attend to MO as well. P and I sit together on the sofa every evening and quite often show each other links etc on our respective ipads.
  3. My many years as an unpaid carer included times when I preferred a pseudonym in the fight to gain proper support.
  4. Use rgsmedley... if you please. I hope it's not too much trouble and that this way works.
  5. All very Machiavellian, I'm afraid. All at the cost of further 'social mistakes' being made.

3 Onward into 2021

  1. For the moment, (8 Jan) I can't envisage how my piece of mind will be regained.
  2. It will emerge in due course, I'm sure.
  3. D is a good man. Although I have needed to hurl strong adjectives at him as part of clearing my mind, his actions reduce to thoughtlessness and his need to be the centre of attraction. Unforgivable for me.
  4. At present, I don't want to engage him. That has been made plain before he receives the website link.

4 Security

  1. Privacy/security aspects of this website have been given much attention.
  2. How many websites are there in the world?
  3. According to the World Wide Web Size Project, the number of webpages indexed in Google is at least 4.45 billion.
  4. Expectedly, this number is more than the total number of existing websites (around 1.3 billion). source
  5. How many personal websites in the world? Very difficult to determine.
  6. Google seems only to present systems for building them. more. more private sites
  7. Guessing that they are as low as 10%, we remove one nought from 13,000,000,000 = 1300,000,000.
  8. The probability of anyone running into this website is so very low that we can forget about it. I have been looking at www since 2004 and have never gained access to any personal website.
  9. People involved are not named.
